Acid Reflux and Gallstone Specialist
My mission is to address the underlying causes to avoid unnecessary treatments that create long-term negative effects.
Antacids and PPIs provide quick relief from acid reflux, but they don’t fix the underlying issue of stomach acid imbalance, poor diet, or digestive dysfunction. Similarly, gallbladder removal can alleviate the pain caused by gallstones, but it doesn’t address why the stones formed in the first place, and it can lead to digestive issues in the long term since the gallbladder plays a role in bile storage and digestion.
To promote long-term digestive health, we will focus on the body as a whole to address the underlying factors. For acid reflux, this might mean looking at dietary habits, stress levels, and the function of the lower esophageal sphincter. For gallstones, factors like diet (particularly high-fat and low-fiber diets), obesity, and genetics play a role in their formation, so addressing these through lifestyle changes may help prevent future issues.
